When something changes, you'll know who did it
Whether you're answering a compliance question, looking back at a refund decision, or just trying to remember who flipped a setting last Tuesday — Edushade has the answer ready. Every important change is written down automatically, with the person, the moment, what they changed and what it looked like before. No extra tools, no manual logging, no guessing.
A record that's actually useful when you need it
Most audit logs are a wall of text you can't read on a Friday afternoon. Edushade keeps two clear, searchable streams — one for the changes admins and instructors make to the platform, one for the day-to-day activity of your learners — so the right answer is always one filter away.
Two Streams, One Story
An admin Audit Log for the changes your team makes, and an Activity Log for everything your learners do. Two views, one source of truth.
Who, What, When, From Where
Every entry tells you the person, the action, the time, the IP and the device — so a record reads as a sentence, not a hex dump.
See the Before and After
When a setting changes, the entry shows what it was and what it became — so you can roll back in your head before you roll back in the app.
Impersonation Stays Visible
When support signs in as a learner to debug, the action is recorded against the learner with the support agent's name on the side. No invisible footprints.
Filter, Search, Export
Narrow by person, by action, by resource, by module, by date. Pull a CSV or a JSON export to send to legal, finance or the auditor of the day.
Keep What Matters, Retire the Rest
Set how long each stream lives. Older entries roll off automatically on the schedule you choose, so the log stays focused on what's relevant.
Two clear streams, not one tangled log
There are two kinds of questions teams ask about an LMS. "Who changed this setting?" is one. "What did this learner actually do?" is the other. Edushade keeps them in separate views so neither one drowns the other. The Audit Log carries the privileged moves your team makes — courses created, prices changed, roles assigned, refunds approved. The Activity Log carries every user action — sign-ins, enrollments, lesson views, quiz attempts. They live next to each other in the admin so you can switch between them without losing your place.

Activity Log for everything your learners do day-to-day
Both share the same filters and the same look
Each entry links back to the person and the resource it touched
Every entry reads like a sentence, not a riddle
Open any entry and the story is right there. The person who did it, with their name and avatar. What they did, in plain words. Which part of the platform — billing, learning, communication, the website, anywhere it could happen. The exact time. The IP address and the device they used. And when the change is an update, the old value sits next to the new value so you can see what shifted without opening another window. There's nothing to decode.
The actor's name, photo and role next to the action
A short, plain-English description of what happened
Module tag — billing, learning, communication, website, etc.
Before and after values for updates, so the change is obvious
Find any moment without a treasure hunt
Audit logs only earn their keep if you can actually find what you need. The admin filters let you narrow by who took the action, what kind of action, which resource, which part of the platform, and a date range — by themselves or together. When you find the right entries, pull a CSV or JSON export with the same filters applied. It lands in your inbox in a shape your finance team or your auditor can open without help from engineering.

Each user can also view their own activity history from their profile
Keep what matters, retire what doesn't
An audit trail you never throw away becomes a haystack. Edushade lets you set how long each stream lives — for example, eighteen months for the admin Audit Log, ninety days for the Activity Log — and the platform quietly retires older entries on the schedule you set. The records you still need are easy to find. The ones you no longer do don't slow anyone down. And if a regulator asks for the long view, lift the retention window and the archive is back.
Configurable retention windows, set independently per stream
Cleanup runs automatically in the background
Recent entries stay quick to query and export
Adjust the window any time without losing the past month's data
From a question to a clear answer in three steps
It's faster than going through emails. Open the right log, narrow with a filter or two, and you've got the answer — usually in under a minute.
Open the right log
Under the admin's Audit menu, you'll see Audit Logs and Activity Logs side by side. Pick the one that matches your question — "who changed this?" sits in Audit Logs; "what did this learner do?" sits in Activity Logs.
Narrow it down
Use the filters along the top — person, action, resource, module, date range. You can stack them. The list updates live, so you'll see the right entries the moment your filter is in place.
Open the detail or export the proof
Click any entry to see the full story — who, what, when, where from, before and after. Or hit Export to download exactly the rows you've filtered to as a CSV or JSON, ready to send on.
